Inspection pits are designed to allow easy working access of an underside bus and coach for inspection, maintenance and repair.
Everquip manufacture a range of inspection pits built bespoke to the bus and coach market, better known as bus pits and coach pits.
Bus and Coach pits were typically made out of brick and left numerous hazards for when working underneath a vehicle such as:
- Ingress of water
- Poor lighting
- Slippery entrance and exit
- Unsafe flooring
- Poor working conditions
The introduction of an Everquip steel fabricated bus and coach inspection pit solved the above by producing:
- Non-slip entrance and exit to BS5395
- Non-slip floor
- Zone 2 lights
- Centrally fitted sump
- Steel fabrication of pit with skeletal frame internally and externally welded to ensure no ingress of water.
Everquip bus and coach pits are used to service and maintain a wide range of vehicles, these range from:
- Single deck buses
- Double deck buses
- Small Coaches
- Large Coaches
To service and maintain these vehicles sufficiently, Everquip recommended the following:
- 1350mm width internally
- 1500mm depth internally
- Fitted with a sump as standard centrally
- Recess box for storage of waste oil drainer and small tools
