Brake testing is a requirement in the UK for commercial vehicles to be checked on their braking system periodically every 4 – 12 weeks dependent on vehicle.
A mobile brake tester does the same thing as a commercial brake tester. Mobile brake tester carries out a check on vehicles to ensure the braking system is up to Government DVSA standards, this is done by checking:
- Service brake
- Secondary brake
- Park brake
- Bind
- Ovality
- ULTAST dependent on vehicle
Mobile brake testers are still a relatively new product for the UK and unlike inground commercial brake testers, have the following benefits:
- No civil works required
- Moveable between depots and other testing locations
- Suitable for uneven surfaces with self-levelling feet.
